Fanola is the bioethanol Planika makes and distributes for its fireplaces and burners. It is made from seasonal crops such as wheat, beet or potato. It contains odourless additives that make it undrinkable.

Planika recommends bioethanol with 96-96.6 % ethyl alcohol, no gel, no fragrance and with a UFI code. The Fanola label states 96 % ethyl alcohol.

Consumption and running cost

According to Planika, a 1-metre burner uses on average about 1 litre per hour. Actual consumption depends on burner length and flame level. BEV fireplaces use up to 20 % less than manual burners, according to the manufacturer.
